Scale & Tail publishes practical reptile care guides for reptile owners in the United States — bearded dragons, leopard geckos, and ball pythons. Our goal is simple: answer the question you actually searched for, in plain English, with information you can act on today.

How we write

Every guide starts from real search questions reptile owners ask. We research authoritative sources (veterinary associations, herpetological societies, university extensions), draft the guide, and then run it through a multi-step editorial review — fact-checking against sources, originality analysis, and plain-language editing — before anything goes live.

We use AI tools to assist research and drafting. Every published article is reviewed and approved by our editorial process, and we correct errors when we find them.

What we are not

We are not veterinarians. Our content is informational and is not a substitute for professional veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If your reptile has a health problem, call a reptile-savvy veterinarian — reptiles need specialized care, and not every vet treats them.
